CAN CAMEROON 2021: Great Initiation to Indomitable Lions

After the opening ceremony rich in color under the hostesses of the president of the Rebublic of Cameroon HE Paul Biya among others, the indomitable lions launched the great continental meeting by laboriously dominating the Stallions of Burkina Faso (2-1).
Burkina Faso opened the scoring by Gustavo Sangare who was at the finishing end of Bertrand Traore cross.
Cameroon gets her equalizer goal via Vincent Aboubakar who made no mistake from the spot after Zambo Anguissa was fouled by Bertrand Traore in the box. History was made live in this action as AFCON saw its first group stage the VAR used after refree Mustapha Ghorbal consulted the VAR before awarding the penalty.
In this effect, Cameroon Further took the lead in the first half added time whereby Aboubakar sent the goalkeeper the wrong way and added his tournament tally to two.
Striving to the end of the match, Aboubakar thought he got his third close to the half hour mark but saw the goal ruled out after a long VAR check.

DeleteIt was a brilliant performance by the stallions of Burkina Faso. Can we say the Lions were lucky with the 2 penalties awarded in the match. Let evaluate their performance in the upcoming match on the 13th of January

DeleteThe Burkina Faso coach and his players tested COVID positive would give Cameroon to ample opportunity to win outrightly out of penalty shots. I think Cameroon needs to sit up and work harder.
